Cost for calling 1850

However, if you're stuck in traffic, or looking for a taxi on Saturday night, or you have a blind date planned in a town you don't know that well and you are looking for a romantic restaurant? Call 1850 if you're in The Netherlands.

As soon as you call 1850, you will hear a tariff announcement in Dutch that says that the Directory Assistance costs € 0,80. After a few seconds you will be transferred to an operator that will help you find the number you are looking for. From that moment onwards, you'll pay € 0,80 per minute, but will be charged by the second.  If you are calling from a mobile phone, your mobile operator may charge for the use of your mobile phone, too. When you calling from a mobile phone and you have your number recognition enabled, we can send you a free SMS text message with the name and number we found for you!

Once our operator has found you the number you are looking for, he or she will ask you whether you want to be connected straight away. A very handy service if you are for example in a situation when you don't have your hands free to write the number down. Bare in mind though that while you are connected to your found phone number, the € 0,80 per minute charges continue. So be carefull with staying on the phone for too long in these cases!
